My first bracelets were made back in the 80's. 😂 we used to spend all our extra time at camp waiting on kids making knots. One of my favorites is still around somewhere.

Wow, I'll have to point my mom towards your channel. I never really got into it, but my mom made a belt for my American girl doll when I was a kid, and recently made a coin purse and is working on a lanyard (like, a yard long and an inch wide) for her work badge. It's amazing what you can make!

hi, I decided to learn how to make friendship bracelets and since I'm waiting for the ordered threads to arrive, I started looking at some tutorials and patterns. I have a question though. in the patterns after starting the bracelet you only need to tie one knot, while in all the tutorials I've seen I have to tie 2 knots. so in the diagram you put an arrow indicating to tie 2 knots? and in every type of bracelet (other than chevrons) do I have to tie 2 knots when there is an arrow in the pattern??

how do you make it diagonal instead of straight? It looks like you're just making alpha rows how are they doing that?

My favourite way to remove knots has been a seam ripper of all things?! I honestly never use it but it was in arms reach while trying to remove a knot and worked so so well that I just use it for that now 😂 keeps the strings from fraying too same way a needle does

I use tape , but when I have my desired loop length I cut the tape from one corner to the other and stick the smaller part through the loop on the top then do the same thing but put it upside down the take 2 regular pieces and put them on the bigger ends of the angled tapes. If that makes sense ?

For me, this is a refresher course. I did friendship bracelets as a young teen (long before RUclips) but I stopped when I grew tired of having tangles in the threads all the time. I started up again almost two years ago now and all I have done is candy stripe bracelets. I knew how to do chevron bracelets, but I don't think I was very good at them. I messed up a lot back then. I recently grew tired of doing just candy striped bracelets after making about 15 of them. I'm currently in the middle of attempting a chevron bracelet for the first time in years when I realized that it wasn't turning out the way that it should, so here I am getting a refresher. Turns out I made the mistake of doing all four colors on one side instead of one color across all four colors on one side. :/ I think to fix it I'm going to just copy my error on the right side then start over with the correct way to do the pattern. I'm glad I'm using excess strings to practice with.

informacion es español por si alguien tiene dudas: 1. el color mas largo debe tener 220 a 230 cm o 2,20 mtr (si se va mucho hilo) 2. el color de la flor osea petalos debe tener 170 cm o 1,70 mtr (no se va tanto) 3. el hilo del color del centro de la flor puede 110 a 130 cm osea 1,10 o 1,30 mtr (para evitar desperdiciar hilo) sobra entre 9 a 10 cm para hacer la trensita final. pdt: si usan hilo terlenca se vera mas bonito, pero mucha paciencia por que se resbala mucho y a veces los hilos se descuandran un chingo cuando empiezas.

As a complete beginners I thought that this wouldn't be hard, turns out, it was! After about four hours I finally got thr loop done, but I found as I kept going it got easier and easier! I learnt about four different knot types, triangle starts and finishes, and how to make loops! This was definitely an amazing tutorial to be able to go back through and figure out what I was doing! I'm so glad you clearly explained, and demonstrated how to do each section, since I still have no clue out to read a pattern! You've done such a good job!
